Indianapolis Baha'i Community honored by Mayor, State Senator & Governor

At the recent celebration of Race Unity Day 2019, the Indianapolis Baha'i Community was presented by a proclamation from Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.

Also presented during the celebration was a proclamation from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, proclaiming June 9, 2019 to be Race Unity Day for the State of Indiana, and inviting all Hoosiers to works towards ending discrimination and racial bias.

Finally, the Indianapolis Baha'i community received a letter from Indiana State Senator John Ruckelshaus, indicating his support for efforts by the Baha'i Community to "fight discrimination on the grounds of race, color, and ethnic origin."  Senator Ruckelshaus also praised core activities of the Baha'i community, such as home visits, devotional meetings, firesides, children's classes and junior youth spiritual empowerment groups.
